In 2016, I wrote my first published article for Orlando Style Magazine, at a time when AI was still just a concept from an '80s movie in the public consciousness. Algorithms weren't common knowledge, and Elon Musk was not yet a household name.

Despite being a style magazine, my editor had a keen interest in technology. During a conversation about AI, he mentioned that if I wrote an article on the topic, he would publish it.

Say no more! (I thought to myself)

I took a deep dive into technology to discover how artificial intelligence both enhances and jeopardizes our way of life. I discovered what future-minded inventors, like Elon Musk and Sam Altman, were doing to protect humanity from possible threats posed by AI, and how we can stay ahead of any potential "robot race."

This article published in Orlando Style Magazine and Tampa Style Magazine in October 2016.
